F1 journalist Chris Medland has revealed that Haas' money saving tactics have not stopped at their small pit wall.

The 3-seater pit wall for the American team has caught the eye of many fans during the Bahrain pre-season testing and team principal Guenther Steiner has explained that it will be saving the team around $250,000 a year.

Taking to Twitter, Medland added that the team are looking to "completely reduce it to a wall". He wrote:

"The Haas pit wall that will already save it $250,000 a year is not finished yet…

"The team is actually looking to completely reduce it to a wall that can go via sea freight and be replicated six times - saving another $250,000 compared to the air freight version"

Steiner has explained the change during the pre-season testing and that he would watch from the garage if need be, to free up a space on their small pit wall. He explained:

"You have six people out there or a quarter of a million on car updates?

"The guys came up with that idea.

"With three seats we can cover what we need to cover and we rearrange. It's mainly a saving to put that money into development because we are at the cost cap.

"The only way to get faster is development so we try to free up as much as possible for development and not spend it on 'prat perches' for example, having a lot of people there."

The 2023 season will get under way with the Bahrain Grand Prix next week from 3-5 March. The season will consist of a record-breaking 23 races including three in the United States in Miami, Austin, and Las Vegas.
