Hungarian GP Results: George Russell Tops The Timesheets In FP1 After Rain-Soaked And Dramatic Session

The results for the first free practice session ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix.

George Russell topped the timesheets during the first free practice session of the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Just under five minutes into the session, Sergio Perez crashed into the race wall after losing control when his front and rear left tyres clipped the grass under braking. The collision ended the session for the Mexican driver.

Once the red flag was lifted, the rest of the grid were only able to get a couple of laps in before rain started to fall leading the majority to pit. The rain continued throughout the session so seven drivers ended up not putting any times on the board, presumably after deciding to not take any risks in the weather.
