Lewis Hamilton Reveals Reason For Poor Qualifying Results For Mercedes
The car only feels average for Lewis Hamilton.

Lewis Hamilton has reflected on his - arguably - disappointing results in qualifying with he and George Russell ending 7 and 6 on the grid respectively. Complaining that the car didn't "feel alive", Hamilton still has high hopes for tomorrow.
Talking to the press after qualifying, Hamilton said:
"I went in with a really open mind. I woke up this morning thinking it was going to be a lot further behind.
"So the fact that we're even getting into Q3 is great.
He continued:
"We made a step forward today so the power was feeling much, much more alive this morning. And all a sudden we were in a different place than we were the day before.
"But then we got to qualifying and for me the car just didn't feel alive. It felt kind of average.
"The direction I'm doing with for my setup I'm hoping is much better for tomorrow.
"I tried to set it up for tomorrow, could have made it a little bit difficult in qualifying."
Looking towards tomorrow's race, he feels optimistic about his chances:
"On a single lap you can't catch up - we were 6-tenths behind I think last year time time, but we had bouncing and all sorts of things, so it's no tan impossible mountain to climb, so that's a positive.
"I know everyone back with factory's been working so hard. We can definitely close that gap but just got to really focus and push."
