Lewis Hamilton has already made history as one of the most successful Formula 1 drivers in the world, but his ambitions don't end on the racetrack. In fact, the Brit has his sights set on space travel, with none other than Elon Musk as his guide.

It's no secret that the seven-time world champion is passionate about more than just F1. He's dabbled in MotoGP, recorded music like his Ferrari rival Charles Leclerc, and has dominated the fashion industry. Now, he's set his sights on the deep beyond: space.

Elon Musk, the visionary behind companies like Tesla and SpaceX, is the man who Hamilton hopes will take him to space. Speaking at an official F1 fan event in Australia, Hamilton revealed that he's in regular contact with Musk.

"Elon’s been to my party in Austin the last two years. Of course, I talked to him about did we land on the Moon? Where are we going next?" Hamilton shared with fans.

While Hamilton is eager to blast off, he's happy to let others take the lead for now.

"I am going, yes, at some stage, but I’ll let some other people go first because those things blow up on the way up," Hamilton said, referring to the risks involved in space travelm- see the latest launch of Starship for more...

Beyond his racing career, Hamilton is known for his philanthropic efforts and activism. He's been an outspoken advocate for environmental issues, owns a share of a plant-based burger business, and his partnership with Mercedes-Benz to create a sustainable future for the automotive industry has garnered attention around the world. Going up in a rocket isn't the most environmentally friendly activity, but who could say no to the experience?
