Qatar GP Results: Max Verstappen Goes Fastest In Free Practice

Max Verstappen topped the timesheets during the first Free Practice session ahead of the Qatar Grand Prix.

Following the Red Bull driver were both Ferrari's with Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc who put in the second and third fastest times, respectively.

The Qatar Grand Prix hosts another Sprint Race weekend meaning the drivers and teams only have one Free Practice session to get ready for Qualifying later today. Another difficulty put on the drivers is the change in conditions between FP1 which is during daytime and Qualifying at nighttime.

Many of the drivers were complaining about issues with grip during the practice session, made worse by the wind scattering sand onto the track. Track limits are expected to be an issue across the weekend as the drivers battle with low grip.
