Red Bull driver Sergio Perez claims that the upcoming Miami Grand Prix is "the most demanding race" for him on the F1 calendar, however, feels he is ready to close the gap to his teammate, Max Verstappen.

The Mexican driver had a fantastic weekend in Baku, taking the win for both the sprint race as well as the Grand Prix. Perez is now just six points behind Max Verstappen who is currently leading the drivers' championship.

Perez will be hoping to continue his winning streak at the first of three American races, however, according to the driver, this won't be easy.

The Austrian team has published a press release reflecting on the Azerbaijan Grand Prix whilst also looking ahead to the weekend in Florida. Perez explained in the press release:

"I felt super confident in the car last weekend, and we executed two perfect races. Everything came together. I always said at the start of this season, we needed consistent weekends, and Baku was just that.

"I am looking forward to Miami. Hopefully, we can continue on our good form from Baku and be really competitive. Physically Miami is the most demanding race of the season, so I have been working hard to be ready for it."

Red Bull has won all four races so far this season, with three of those being 1-2 finishes for the team. Ferrari showed some improved performance in Baku with Charles Leclerc taking pole position for both the sprint and Grand Prix. However, it is yet to be seen if this was track specific performance or if they can carry this through to Miami, where they will also be bringing upgrades to the SF-23.
