The upcoming Australian Grand Prix, which is set to take place in early April, is expected to be the fastest ever, thanks to the addition of a fourth Drag Reduction System (DRS) zone at the Albert Park circuit. This move is unprecedented in the world of Formula 1, making it a historic event.

The introduction of the fourth zone was first implemented in last year's race, on a newly upgraded track. However, due to safety concerns, the FIA, removed it after the opening two practice sessions.

Despite this setback, the Australian Grand Prix chief, Andrew Westacott, remained undeterred. He has since received positive feedback from the FIA and Formula One that the fourth DRS zone will be reintroduced. This news has been met with excitement from fans around the world.

According to Westacott, the addition of the fourth DRS zone will allow the cars to reach top speeds of 340 km per hour (211 mph) around the Melbourne track. This will undoubtedly make for an exhilarating race, and fans are eagerly anticipating what promises to be a historic event. Westacott explained:

"It will be the fastest race in Melbourne ever.

"You've got the evolution of the cars from last year, and they've obviously got better, and the fourth DRS zone means the cars will be quicker around the back of the circuit.

"Which will obviously increase speed and therefore reduce lap time and make it the quickest Grand Prix and the highest average speed ever in Melbourne."
