F1 News: Valtterri Bottas Blames Mercedes For "Restricting" His Life Before Alfa Romeo Move

Valtteri Bottas' departure from Mercedes to join Alfa Romeo has brought about a significant transformation in the Finnish driver's life. While he's no longer at the front of the grid, there's been a noticeable change in the driver who is now relaxed within his new team.
Posting photos to Instagram of himself swimming naked to cutting his hair into a mullet, the man knows how to live. And it sounds as though this is thanks to his move away from the Brackley-based team.
"I believe I can now truly be my authentic self. There's certainly a slight difference."
"I think the company policy is a little different in different workplaces, let's put it that way. And some things are maybe a little more restricted.
Obviously, the culture within Mercedes is a lot more controlled in comparison to Alfa Romeo.
"But it's also a time when you're getting older.
"At some point you realize that you shouldn't take things too seriously, especially yourself," he says before adding that he feels "a little happier" within himself.
"I could imagine that I wouldn't have been allowed to, so that's just one example."
Bottas' girlfriend, Tiffany Cromwell, whom he has been dating since 2020, has also played a part in his transformation.
As Bottas described: "She's Australian and, I would say, a free spirit. She enjoys living in the moment and doing things that bring her joy. It's a way of thinking. Therefore, it undoubtedly has an impact.
"After all, your partner is someone with whom you share your life, and that has a significant influence. And yet, she's still attempting to make me an Aussie, step by step. Yes, for certain," he said..
Bottas' departure from Mercedes has allowed him to fully embrace his true self, and his new environment at Alfa Romeo has undoubtedly contributed to his personal and professional growth. It's great to see him thrive.
