Reigning Champion LOVB Austin Introduces 2027 Roster

Coming off another championship, LOVB Austin has debuted its roster with six new additions. Even with talent coming in all over the country, LOVB Austin keeps its roots close to home with multiple players from the University of Texas.

Two-time defending League One Volleyball champion LOVB Austin will enter the 2027 season with a roster built around star power and a heavy Texas influence as it looks to capture a third consecutive league title.

The club announced its 2027 roster in July, returning many of the key contributors who helped Austin lift the LOVB championship trophy in back-to-back seasons while adding depth across every position. The roster features seven All-Americans, seven players with national team experience, and two international standouts.

Leading the front line is middle blocker Asjia O'Neal, one of the nation's top blockers during her collegiate career at Texas, winning national championships in 2022 and 2023. She is now a cornerstone of Austin's defense, joined by middle blockers Skyy Howard and Bella Bergmark.

Howard, from Charlotte, N.C., just wrapped up three successful seasons in Europe after playing collegiate volleyball at Colorado and North Carolina, even earning ACC All-Freshman Team honors in 2019.

Austin also possesses plenty of firepower on the pins, with outside hitters Claire Chaussee and Madi Banks. Chaussee, the ACC Player of the Year in 2022, helped Louisville reach the NCAA Tournament in all five of her collegiate seasons. Most recently, she competed for LOVB Madison.

The organization has leaned heavily on players coming out of Gregory Gymnasium and Longhorn volleyball head coach Jerritt Elliott's program. Since the league's inaugural season, LOVB Austin's connection to the Forty Acres has been a defining feature of the roster.

In addition to O'Neal and Bergmark, opposite hitters Madisen Skinner and Juliann Faucette and middle hitter Molly McCage are staying in Texas' capital to continue their volleyball careers.

Skinner enters the season as one of the league's premier attackers with national championship experience. After turning professional, Skinner has seamlessly transitioned into LOVB with her powerful left-side attack and leadership. Entering the 2027 season, Skinner is expected to once again play a central role as the defending champions for another season.

Austin is also welcoming six newcomers.

Libero Beatrice Negretti arrives after spending the previous season with LOVB Atlanta. A veteran from Italy, she helped Vero Volley Milano capture a Serie A1 silver medal while finishing third place in the Italian Cup.

Former Oregon star Brooke Nuneviller, an outside hitter, gives Austin another offensive weapon. The Ducks' first three-time AVCA All-American, Nuneviller enjoyed professional success before joining LOVB, winning the 2024 Major League Volleyball championship and earning the league's 2025 Outside Hitter of the Year award.

Libero Lauren Briseno isn't traveling far. After spending the previous season with LOVB Houston, she's making her way to Travis County. Briseno earned All-Big 12 honors twice throughout her career at Baylor and represented Team USA at the 2023 U21 NORCECA Pan American Cup, helping the Americans win gold. Her passing ability and familiarity with volleyball in Texas make her a natural fit for the club.
