After a year-long hiatus, the Vegas Thrill is returning to Major League Volleyball (MLV) in 2027.

The league officially announced that the team is undergoing a strategic reboot, which features a long-term vision focused on elite standards, community legacy, and a world-class fan experience.

After suspending operations last season in order to search for stable local ownership, new owner Michael Landier, executive producer and founder of Landier Entertainment, team president Ruben Herrera and general manager Fran Flory now lead the way.

“I’ve called Nevada home for nearly two decades and have had a front-row seat as Las Vegas has transformed into a major league sports market,” Landier said in a press release. “As a fan of the Vegas Thrill and a longtime supporter of our sports community, bringing the team back is especially meaningful to me. We’re ready to build something special for Vegas fans by delivering the elite competition, family-friendly atmosphere and memorable experiences that define Major League Volleyball.”

To make the revamp even stronger, the Vegas Thrill took it a step further with the announcement of Rachel Morris as its head coach. Morris comes from Indiana University, where she spent four seasons as an associate head coach and recruiting coordinator. There, she helped lead the Hoosiers to the most successful four-year period in program history, while setting program records for overall and Big Ten wins.

“I am incredibly honored to lead the Vegas Thrill at such an exciting time for the organization,” Morris said in a press release. “Michael and the leadership team are committed to creating the kind of environment where athletes can develop and succeed. We are going to build a competitive team that plays fast, fearless volleyball and represents this community with pride.”

With a new era comes new branding, too. The franchise unveiled its new team logo and launched a brand campaign to mark a fresh identity. The colors, fonts, and design are meant to reflect the energy of the Las Vegas community.

While a 2027 roster has yet to be released, schedule, ticket information, and additional organizational initiatives will be announced in the coming months. Home matches will be held at Lee’s Family Forum in Henderson, Nev, the home to the Henderson Silver Knights, the AHL affiliate of the Vegas Golden Knights of the National Hockey League.

“Fandom is earned,” Landier said in a press release. “We intend to earn it by delivering memorable experiences at Lee’s Family Forum and by showing up for this community throughout the year. We want young athletes across Southern Nevada to meet our players, learn the game, and see what is possible for them.”
