3 Transfer Destinations That Make Sense for Audi Crooks

On April 2, former Iowa State Cyclones star center Audi Crooks announced that she would be transferring from the school she had spent the first three seasons of her collegiate career at.
This came after an exodus of her 2025-26 teammates also announced their decision to transfer, leaving the Cyclones with just a couple of players on their current roster. But now the big question becomes which teams make the most sense for Crooks to transfer to. And while the star center has made no indications about which programs she might prefer, there are definitely some intriguing options available to her.
Here are three such programs that would seem to have a lot of sense to land Crooks next season.
1. Oklahoma Sooners
While Crooks hasn't stated this explicitly, it's safe to assume she would want to stay relatively close to home when deciding where to transfer. She was born and raised in Algona, Iowa, which is less than two hours away from Ames, where Iowa State University is located.
While Norman, Oklahoma, isn't that close to Algona, it's still in the Midwest, which might be appealing to Crooks. What seems certain is that she wants to play for a championship contender next season, and with standout freshman Aaliyah Chavez poised to be one of the country's top players next season, Crooks could make a perfect pairing with her.

The Sooners had elite center Raegan Beers on their roster this season, who excelled alongside Chavez. Beers and Crooks have a similar game, which suggests that it could be a relatively easy transition for both Chavez and Crooks.
Oklahoma is definitely an intriguing option for the former Cyclone.
2. TCU Horned Frogs
Another team that would make sense for Crooks is TCU. For one, head coach Mark Campbell is among the country's best in attracting top transfers, which he has done with Hailey Van Lith and Olivia Miles in the past two offseasons.
Sedona Prince found a lot of success with TCU two seasons ago. She is taller than Crooks, but her ability to stretch the floor and perform the pick and roll should be a trait that Crooks can bring into her own game.

The Horned Frogs should be a good team next season, and adding Crooks could elevate them into being a national championship contender.
3. Michigan Wolverines
Michigan would appear to be another appealing fit for Crooks to transfer to. The Wolverines have several elite guards in Syla Swords and Olivia Olson, but didn't have a strong post presence to pair with their talented backcourt.
In fact, Michigan's top four scorers in the 2025-26 season were all guards, all of whom stretch the floor with shooting. Therefore, Crooks can anchor the paint and turn Michigan into one of the most well-rounded offenses in the country.

All of this is to say that Crooks has plenty of options. Of course, teams must also want to bring Crooks on boards. But given that she's one of the most talented scorers in college basketball, it's safe to assume that she'll be sought after in the transfer portal.
