Angel Reese Swats Diana Taurasi's Shot During Sky vs. Mercury WNBA Game

The Chicago Sky are hosting the Phoenix Mercury on Thursday, as the WNBA season resumes after a month-long break due to the Paris 2024 Olympics.
It has not been a good half for Chicago. They are losing 50-28 to Phoenix and have been unable to muster any cohesion and consistency on the offensive end.
With star guard Chennedy Carter sidelined due to a non-COVID-related illness, the Sky don't have anybody who can create their own offense; which is leading to a stagnant offensive attack.
While they haven't been much better on the defensive end, Sky star rookie Angel Reese did swat a shot from WNBA legend Diana Taurasi at the end of the first half.
Taurasi was driving to the basket with 40 seconds remaining in the second quarter. When she went up for a shot, Reese appeared and swatted her shot away.

Reese then secured the ball and dribbled it down to the court before passing it to Rachel Banham, who was one of the players Chicago acquired from the Connecticut Sun when they traded Marina Mabrey last month.
It has been a relatively quiet first half for Reese aside from this impressive block, as she currently has 3 points and 8 rebounds in 17 minutes played.
Taurasi hasn't done much better. She currently has 5 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist in 14 minutes played for Phoenix.
Although the Mercury haven't needed Taurasi to be a difference maker on offense, as fellow Olympian and Mercury teammate Kahleah Copper has already scored 17 points in her first game against Chicago since leaving the team this past offseason.
Reese and the rest of her Sky squad will be looking to produce a stronger second half once they return from the locker room.
