Caitlin Clark's Fever Teammate Has Iowa Feeling

WNBA TV ratings and attendance are through the roof, in large part due to Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark. Such a rising tide of course directly impacts her teammates with Aliyah Boston receiving the second most All-Star votes being an example. But obviously the attention will go noticed by the entire team. Something another All-Star, guard Kelsey Mitchell was asked about.

Mitchell hit a huge three against the New York Liberty and joked that she, "felt like a Hawkeye" with all the eyes on her. Kelsey made sure she quickly shouted out her college of Ohio State following the comment to avoid any smoke from Buckeyes fans for the Iowa love. However, the point seemed to be well received.

Mitchell has been terrific for the Fever this season and is actually the squad's leading scorer, putting in 16.5 points per game while shooting nearly 40% from beyond the arc. But despite her own individual talent and stellar play, she was able to acknowledge the extra focus her new teammate, who she called C-squared brings. Though Kelsey had to laugh off any questions about what she thought of Caitlin's triple-double in the moment, given she stated she was playing in the game and wasn't overthinking it as it happened.
Kelsey Mitchell on the belief this team has had in themselves paying off in the Liberty win: “Hopefully we can keep cultivating that. That energy and confidence can carry you in a lot of ways… it would only be us that could stop us at that point.”

Mitchell spoke glowingly on the culture the Fever are building and is clearly bullish on Indiana's chances moving forward if they keep going in the direction they are. "I don't too much can stop us. It would only be us that could stop us at that point."
And with her sharing the backcourt alongside Clark, it seems apparent the team will continue to thrive.
