UConn's Paige Bueckers to Make NCAA Shoe History with Nike

Paige Bueckers is ready for her senior season at UConn. She then may go on to be the first pick in the WNBA Draft. But before either of those things happen, she will make some history with a sneaker deal. Bueckers is set to become the first college athlete to receive a publicly released Nike shoe collaboration, according to sneaker news site Sole Retriever.

Paige will receive her own edition of the GT Hustle 3, which is to be released on September 12th. Bueckers is an NIL athlete with the brand, and will be rocking kicks on her feet that will also be available for purchase. The latest investment into women's basketball by the iconic sports apparel company. Nike has an existing popular product with Sabrina Ionescu, just unveiled a unique set of Kobe's with Caitlin Clark ahead of her signature line, and has a collaboration with A'ja Wilson on the way.

Bueckers is primed for a big year with the Huskies. She averaged 22.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists a game in 38 games while leading UConn to the Final Four, where they lost to Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Which was a notable bounce back after Paige suffered an ACL injury.

Until she gets back on the court however, Bueckers will continue to provide Olympic commentary, including her thoughts on the dominance of Team USA. While fans will be able to get ahold of her history making Nike shoes before the NCAA women's college basketball season even tips off.
