Fans Rehashing Intense Sky, Sparks Player Beef Before WNBA Rematch

The Chicago Sky and Los Angeles Sparks are facing off on Saturday for the second time in the 2024 WNBA regular season.
This is an important matchup for the Sky, who were blown out by the Phoenix Mercury 85-65 in their first game back from the WNBA's month-long Olympics break on Thursday. Since the Sparks are 6-19 on the season and 2-8 in their last 10 games, this is a matchup that Chicago should win if they're to maintain their playoff position.
Although this showdown is significant for Sky guard Dana Evans for another reason.
Last August, Evans and former Dallas Wings player Odyssey Sims got into an intense altercation during a game. The two had to be separated, and the altercation led to former Sky player Ruthy Hebard getting ejected.

Later that night, both Evans and Sims exchanged fiery messages back and forth to each other on Instagram.
"Don't ever come for me! PERIOD! I don't have time to give lil babies my energy," Sims wrote.
"babe you fouled out in 9 minutes. Your only stats were 6 fouls & 1 turnover," Evans replied with a kissing face emoji.

Sims was released by the Wings on Wednesday. Yet, she signed a 7-day contract with the Sparks on Saturday.
This means that she and Evans are facing off on the court for the first time since last August's altercation on Saturday.
And fans are feeling like Evans is set to produce an iconic performance as a result of her rematch with Sims.

Neither Sims nor Evans scored any points during the first quarter of Saturday's game. But there's still a lot of basketball left to be played.
