The Indiana Fever had a chance to punch their postseason ticket on Thursday night. They weren't able to get it done against the Dallas Wings, falling 91-85. The Fever are still in great shape, as they remain in fourth place in the WNBA standings and had a five game win streak going before their loss to Dallas.

It was certainly an off night from superstar Caitlin Clark, who ended with just 10 points and nine assists. Despite Kelsey Mitchell's 37 points, Indiana couldn't get much going offensively. Aliyah Boston posted 14 points and nine rebounds. Sophie Cunningham, who has been a blessing off the bench for Indiana all season, recorded zeros across the board.

They'll need to shake off a poor outing as the weekend ahead is packed. Indiana will now head to New York for a showdown with the Liberty on Saturday night. Here's how to watch:

Indiana's playoff clinching scenarios just became interesting

While the Fever couldn't officially make the playoffs after their loss in Dallas, there's still two possible ways they can clinch over the following days. On Friday, the Fever will clinch a playoff spot IF the Portland Fire lose to the Toronto Tempo. In the event that Portland wins, Indiana will then clinch IF they beat the Liberty on Saturday.

There's a lot riding on these next few games. Thursday's output seemed like an off night for everybody, obviously except for Mitchell. The Fever will conclude their road trip in Chicago on Sunday afternoon before a few days of much needed rest.

After this weekend, Indiana will have five games remaining in the regular season before the playoffs begin. They've already matched their win total from 2025, but they cannot be comfortable with that alone. The sky isn't falling after one loss, however, Indiana needs to avoid an embarrassing collapse over the next seven games and go into the postseason with momentum.

It's unlikely we'll see Clark put up just 10 points again in consecutive games. The bench will produce eventually just as they have been all season. The bright side to all of this is that the Fever remain one of the best teams in the league and they've proven that plenty of times this season. Here's a look at their final games:

@ Chicago

@ Toronto

Chicago and Connecticut will be the "easier" games out of those seven. Indiana has their work cut out for them, so they need to clinch their playoff ticket quickly.
