Indiana Baseball Trio Earns Freshman All-America Honors

Pitchers Brayden Risedorph and Craig Yoho plus outfielder Devin Taylor each earned Freshman All-America honors from Collegiate Baseball Newspaper for Indiana baseball this season.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Indiana baseball finished its season 43-20 with a 16-8 conference slate for the program's 10th NCAA tournament appearance and fourth regional final finish. To top off the successful season, three Indiana freshmen earned Freshman All-America honors from Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.

Pitcher Brayden Risedorph and right fielder Devin Taylor won the award as true freshmen while pitcher Craig Yoho spent most of his first four collegiate seasons injured as this was his first complete season.

Risedorph from Kendallville, Ind. became the second Hoosier freshman to reach the 60-strikeout milestone in a season as he got rid of 60 batters in just above 52 innings of pitching. The right hander made five starts in 25 games and posted a 3-1 record with a team-high six saves. He walked 19 batters and had 13 appearances with zero walks while also posting a .255 batting average against.

Big Ten Freshman of the Year Taylor from Cincinnati, Ohio finished the season with 59 RBIs, the most of any freshman in program history. His 16 home runs were good enough for second best. Taylor led all Big Ten freshmen in several statistical categories including batting average (.315), OPS (1.080), total bases (130), walks (36), home runs and RBIs.

From Fishers, Ind., Yoho was injured for his 2019 campaign, and COVID-19 canceled his 2020 season. Another injury led hime to miss the 2021 and 2022 seasons until he finally got his shot in 2023 appearing in 18 contests. Yoho totaled a 3.41 ERA across 37 innings pitched striking out 63 of 174 batters he faced.
