Coach Jeff Mercer and the Hoosiers are coming off one of the best seasons in Indiana baseball history, and their inclusion in an event that consistently features top teams speaks to the program's growth.

Alabama, Dallas Baptist and Arizona are also coming off 40-plus win seasons, setting up what should be a high-level, competitive event. Indiana will play Dallas Baptist and Arizona for the first time, and it'll be the Hoosiers' second-ever matchup against Alabama, with the first being a 10-7 victory in 1989.

Indiana finished with a 43-20 record in 2023, which marked the program's first 40-win regular season since 2013, when the Hoosiers reached the College World Series for the first time in program history.

Indiana made it all the way to the Lexington Regional Championship in 2023, but ultimately fell to No. 1 seed Kentucky to end an impressive season. Two Hoosiers were selected in the 2023 MLB Draft – the Milwaukee Brewers took Craig Yoho, and the Washington Nationals picked Phillip Glasser – but Indiana returns a talented, young core of Devin Taylor, Brock Tibbitts, Josh Pyne, Carter Mathison and Luke Sinnard.

  • GLASSER TO NATIONALS: Phillip Glasser earned second-team All-Big Ten honors as Indiana's shortstop in 2023, and the Washington Nationals selected him in the 10th round at No. 285 overall of the 2023 MLB Draft. CLICK HERE
  • YOHO TO BREWERS: Indiana right-handed pitcher Craig Yoho became the first Hoosier off the board on Monday, when he was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers with the No. 242 overall pick in the eighth round of the 2023 MLB Draft. CLICK HERE
