Five-Star Point Guard Boogie Fland Announces Top Eight Schools

Boogie Fland, a top-15 player in the class of 2024, announced a top-eight list on Monday, which includes Indiana, Kentucky, Alabama, Michigan, North Carolina, Maryland, UConn and St. John's.

Indiana is in the running for one of the nation's top-ranked players.

On Monday, Johnuel "Boogie" Fland announced he'll decide between Kentucky, Alabama, Indiana, Michigan, North Carolina, Maryland, UConn and St. John’s.

Fland, a 6-foot-3 point guard, is a consensus five-star recruit in the class of 2024. He's ranked No. 6 nationally by Rivals, No. 7 by On3, No. 8 by ESPN and No. 13 by 247 Sports.

Recruiting sites Rivals and On3 consider Fland the nation's best high school point guard, while 247 Sports and ESPN rank him second to Dylan Harper, another Indiana recruiting target.

Fland took an official visit to Indiana from June 13-15.

He recently competed in the Nike EYBL Peach Jam from July 3-8 in North Augusta, S.C., which is considered one of the most prestigious grassroots basketball tournaments in the nation.

With a 2-2 record in four games at Peach Jam, Fland averaged 13 points, one assist and one steal per game. He shot 18-for-48 (37.5 percent) from the field and 6-for-27 (22.2 percent) from 3-point range, according to The Circuit.

Indiana currently does not have any commitments in the class of 2024, but June was a busy month for official visits, including Fland, Jaeden Mustaf and Tyler Betsey.
