LSU sophomore receiver Ja'Marr Chase was named SEC Offensive Player of the Week for his 227-yard, three touchdown performance in the Tigers 58-37 win over Ole Miss.

As part of his night, Chase broke the LSU receiving touchdown record for a single season, grabbing touchdown No. 13 in the final minutes of the fourth quarter to cap off a magnificent day for the passing offense.

Chase also became the first LSU receiver to have multiple 200+ yard games in a season, with the first coming against Vanderbilt where he had 229 yards receiving and four touchdowns. It was the first time Chase has been named SEC Offensive Player of the Week in his career.

Chase's season totals are now up to 1,116 yards on 57 receptions and the 13 touchdowns. After passing up the touchdowns record, previously held by Dwayne Bowe, Chase is now 625 yards shy of breaking the single-season receiving yards record, currently held by Josh Reed.

With as many as five games to go, that record is well within reach for the sophomore.
