Justin Fields Sends Heartfelt Thank You After Steelers Trade

Former Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Justin Fields was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers Saturday night after a handful of on-and-off years with the Chicago Bears.

Justin Fields is officially on the move.

The former Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback was traded from the Chicago Bears to the Pittsburgh Steelers Saturday night. Fields took to social media following the announcement of the deal, thanking the Bears, their fans and the city of Chicago for supporting him over the past three years.

"Can't say thank you enough to the city of Chicago for taking me in and embracing me," Fields said. "Thank you to the entire Bears organization and ownership for allowing me the opportunity to be a part of such a historic franchise."

Fields also made sure to thank his teammates, with whom he had grown close over his seasons in the Windy City. The ex-Buckeyes signal-caller said he gave everything he had in games and practice because of their motivation.

"But most of all thank you to all my brothers that I played with," Fields said. "You all were the reason I attacked each day the way I did. I can't thank you all enough for what y'all have meant to me over the last 3 years through the ups and downs. I wish each one of you nothing but success."

A trade from the Bears involving Fields was not a surprise, as there had been quite a bit of speculation about a deal over the past couple of months.

Additionally, the decision to move on from Fields seems to reveal how the Bears plan on spending the No. 1-overall pick in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft.

Now in need of a quarterback, the Bears have cleared the way for USC Trojans quarterback Caleb Williams to take the reins of the offense this coming season.
