Bleacher Report Lists Ohio State as a 'Winner' of 2024 Late-Signing Window

The Ohio State Buckeyes have had a "strong late signing session," adding top-rated talent up and down its roster.

The 2024 offseason has been a resounding success for the Ohio State Buckeyes.

The Buckeyes have added some of the best players in the country across the board through recruiting and the transfer portal. Bleacher Report named Ohio State to its list of winners and losers of the 2024 early signing period, placing the Scarlet and Gray in the former category rather than the latter.

"It became abundantly clear the past month or so that the Ohio State Buckeyes are suck of finishing second to Michigan in the Big Ten, and they are ponying up to take that tiny step back onto the elite rung of the sport," writer Brad Shepard said. "It has been a strong late signing session for (Ohio state coach Ryan Day) on all fronts."

Numerous high-ranked players have signed their letters of intent to Ohio State, such as five-star receiver Jeremiah Smith and defensive end Eddrick Houston. However, Shepard focused on the team's latest two additions: quarterback Julian Sayin and senior edge Dominic Kirks.

"The biggest splash came when they grabbed the nation's No. 1-ranked quarterback in the 2024 class, Julian Sayin, from Alabama," Shepard said. "Oh, by the way, 6'4", 225-pound Painesville, Ohio, defensive end Dominic Kirks also committed to and signed with his home-state school, flipping from his Washington commitment."

This spring will be instrumental for Day and his coaching staff in determining which players are ready for immediate use, and whom may need a little bit of work before they take the field.
