The UVA women's lacrosse team is catching fire. Behind six goals from Katia Carnevale and three goals and three assists from Morgan Schwab, No. 10 Virginia (8-1, 3-1 ACC) cruised to a 19-10 win over Pittsburgh (2-7, 0-4 ACC) on Saturday afternoon at Klockner Stadium.

Carnevale, Kiki Shaw, and Jenna Dinardo each found the back of the net for the Cavaliers in the first three minutes and six seconds of the game and UVA never looked back, outscoring Pitt 7-2 in the first quarter to seize control right away. After scoring twice in the opening period, Carnevale scored two more goals in the second quarter to help Virginia take an 11-4 halftime lead.

Morgan Schwab tallied a pair of goals in the third quarter and Carnevale found the back of the net twice more in the period to stretch UVA's lead to 17-8 entering the final period. The Cavaliers took their foot off the gas in the fourth, allowing the Panthers to win the period 3-1, but Virginia still secured a comfortable 19-10 win.

Virginia had a slim 17-15 edge in draw controls, but had 13 caused turnovers and forced six failed clears by the Panthers, leading to a hefty possession advantage as UVA outshot Pitt 33-24. Katia Carnevale scored six goals on eight shots and had an assist and Morgan Schwab was even more efficient, scoring three goals on three shots and dishing out three assists. Jenna Dinardo had a hat trick, Madison Alaimo had one goal and three assists, Kiki Shaw had two goals and an assist, and Mackenzie Hoeg and Kate Miller each had a goal and two assists.

Up next, Virginia will look to carry the momentum of its current winning streak into a major mid-week challenge as No. 4 James Madison comes to Charlottesville on Wednesday at 5pm at Klockner Stadium.
