Three Virginia men's lacrosse players were included on the watch list for the 2024 Tewaaraton Award, which was announced by the Tewaaraton Foundation on Wednesday. Graduate attackman Connor Shellenberger, senior defenseman Cole Kastner, and junior goalie Matthew Nunes were included on the 50-player watch list for the Tewaaraton Award, which is presented annually to the most outstanding player in college lacrosse.

One of five finalists for the Tewaaraton Award in each of the last two seasons, Connor Shellenberger has been a regular on the watch lists for the award throughout his career and the three-time USILA First-Team All-American is expected to be a finalist once again in his final season of collegiate lacrosse. Cole Kastner was also on the watch list in 2022 and was included in the 25 nominees for the award that season. This is the first appearance on the Tewaaraton Award watch list for Matthew Nunes, whose junior season got off to a strong start with a 13-save performance in UVA's victory over Michigan last Saturday.

Other players not included on this list have a chance to be added throughout the season and then 25 nominees will be announced on April 18th. The five finalists will be selected in early May and then the winner of the 2024 Tewaaraton Award will be chosen after the conclusion of the season.
