For the second time this season, Virginia freshman point guard Kymora Johnson was named the ACC Rookie of the Week, the conference announced on Monday afternoon. Johnson averaged 19.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 2.5 steals to lead the Cavaliers to a pair of wins against Miami and Louisville last week.

Johnson tallied 21 points and five three-pointers on Thursday to help Virginia take down Miami on Thursday, before following that up with an 18-point performance in UVA's upset win at then-No. 20 Louisville on Sunday. The Cavaliers became the first unranked ACC team ever to beat Louisville at the KFC Yum! Center, where the Cardinals were previously 56-0 in such games. The win was also Virginia's third victory against a ranked opponent this season, most since the 2008-2009 campaign.

This is the second ACC Rookie of the Week award of the season for Johnson, who also earned the honor on January 22nd after scoring 35 points to lead UVA to a 91-87 road win over then-No. 15 Florida State. The Commonwealth of Virginia swept the ACC women's basketball weekly awards this week, as Virginia Tech's Liz Kitley was named the ACC Player of the Week for the sixth time.

Winners of four of its last five games, Virginia (14-13, 6-10 ACC) will wrap up the regular season this week with games at Duke (18-9, 10-6 ACC) on Thursday at 7pm and then back at home against No. 5 Virginia Tech (23-4, 14-2 ACC) on Sunday at 6pm.
