It's Wren Baker's Time to Get the Mayo Bath

The West Virginia athletic director is following through on his promise.

There's nothing sweeter than ending the football season on a high note by winning a bowl game. That is unless you play in and win the Duke's Mayo Bowl, of course.

One of the funniest, weirdest, and maybe nastiest traditions in all of bowl season is the winning head coach getting a mayo bath following the Duke's Mayo Bowl.

WVU head coach Neal Brown felt good about his team's chances of winning the game and was prepared to receive the bath despite absolutely despising mayonnaise. He took it like a champ.

Prior to the bowl game, WVU athletic director Wren Baker pushed West Virginia fans to become a member of Country Roads Trust and if they exceeded 1,500 members by kickoff, he would do a mayo bath as well. Well, the WVU faithful flew past that number and now is the time.

Monday morning, Country Roads Trust announced that they are teaming up with Duke's Mayo Bowl to help raise money for WVU Medicine Children's Hospital. Every $500 donated will equate to another jar of mayo that will be added to Baker's dump. If you were wondering, Neal Brown received 4.5 gallons of mayo.

The goal has been set for $25,000 to be raised by March 19th. As of Monday morning, $438 have been raised.
