DL Nic Moore Books First Official Visit to West Virginia

The Mountaineers land the first summer visit for a top defensive lineman from Tennessee.

Another big-time prospect is set to make his way to Morgantown this summer.

Over the weekend, class of 2025 defensive lineman Nic Moore (6'3", 290 lbs) of Jefferson County HS in Dandridge, TN scheduled an official visit to West Virginia for May 29th-June 2nd.

Moore tells Mountaineers Now that WVU is the only school he currently has an official visit set up to, but he is working to schedule others throughout the rest of June. Indiana, South Florida, Vanderbilt, and Wake Forest are the others who are heavily pursuing and likely to land an OV with the four-star prospect.

"I think they are a great program and a great school. I think they have very aggressive players and are a really good team with a balanced attack and stifling defense," Moore said about the Mountaineers. "When I received the offer (in January) I was shocked because I’ve always had a lot of respect for WVU and watched them often, so it felt unreal to me but amazing!"

Moore had a massive campaign in 2023 logging 40 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, 55 pressures, and 12 sacks. He's a versatile player that can play pretty much anywhere across the d-line, but is being primarily recruited as a 3-technique by Andrew Jackson.

Moore says he does not have a decision timeline at the moment and will see how things go with his visits in June before narrowing his options down.
