Clemson earns top 20 ranking after fourth straight ACC series win

Clemson baseball continues its late-season momentum with a series win over Boston College.

Despite winning three straight Atlantic Coast Conference series, and 10 of its last 13 games overall, there were some questions about whether this Clemson team could go on the road against a ranked Boston College and continue its momentum. The answer was a resoundingly "Yes." as Clemson took the first and last games of the series, scoring a total of 15 runs in those two wins, and is starting to get the attention of the rest of the country.

This recent run of success has taken this Tigers team to four consecutive conference series wins and twelve wins in its last sixteen games. From a national recognition standpoint, Clemson baseball has also caught the eyes of Perfect Game as the organization released its weekly rankings on Monday and had the Tigers at No. 18 overall. They had been unranked for quite some time but actually jumped ahead of Boston College, who fell to No. 19, despite them being as high as 12th last week. 12 also happens to be the number Clemson has risen to in RPI, which is further proof of the meteor this team seems to be riding. Only 3 ACC teams, Miami, Duke, and Wake Forest were higher in this week's rankings.

Caden Grice was dominant again with 8 innings pitched - the longest by a Tiger since 2021 - and only allowed 2 hits and 1 earned run while striking out 9. This performance also led to individual recognition for the star pitcher as he was named ACC Baseball Pitcher of the Week. It's the 4th time in this career that he has earned any kind of Player of the Week honors.

The Tigers come back home this weekend, looking for a fifth straight series win against yet another tough opponent in the Louisville Cardinals.
