Clemson Recruiting: What Ashton Hampton brings to the Tigers.

Clemson landed a playmaker in athlete Ashton Hampton.

Clemson received another big-time commitment on Saturday as three-star athlete Ashton Hampton committed to the Tigers. The Florida product announced the decision on Twitter, stating "Great players go to great programs to shine where the lights the brightest."

Rivalry win: This was a recruiting win for Clemson over rival Florida State. Hampton plays his high school football at Florida State University School in Tallahassee. Both schools are currently battling it out in the recruiting rankings. As things sit, Florida State is ranked 10th in 247's Team Rankings, while Clemson is in 11th.

Multiple positions: Hampton is listed as a safety according to some recruiting services, but it's hard to tell where he'll play in college. At 6-foot-2, he has great size and length for both sides of the football. Offensively, he scored 9 touchdowns through the air as a junior. Defensively, Hampton played boundary corner as well as safety on a team that went 14-1. He'll likely play in the secondary at Clemson, but if he does get any taller, don't be surprised if the Tigers give him a look on offense.

Playmaker: Hampton's game film pops. He's always around the ball. As a junior, Hampton had nearly as many pass break-ups (8) defensively as he had receiving touchdowns (9)
