South Carolina's baseball team is coming off of a series win against Belmont that saw them have to win a rubber match, and Mark Kingston make some changes to the starting lineup either based on matchups or to get the offense going in game three. Now, it's officially rival week, as the Gamecocks are set to face their archrivals, the No. 10 Clemson Tigers, this coming weekend, but before they can put their attention towards 'that team from the upstate,' they'll have to take care of business against the Gardner-Webb Bulldogs tomorrow night.

Gardner-Webb comes into this game with a 2-5 record and has given up six runs or less on only two occasions to this point in the young season. At the plate, the Bulldogs tout a trio of batters who have a .938 OPS (on-base+slugging %) or better in at least 20 at-bats this season: Tommy Tavarez, Humberto Torres, and Peter Capobianco. While we'll have to wait and see what Gardner-Webb does on the mound, they possess four non-rotational arms who have pitched at least four innings and compiled an earned-run average (ERA) of 2.84 or less this season: Connor Maggi, Parker Pixon, Noah Ingle, and Reid Bertram.

The objective for South Carolina in tomorrow's game should be simple: keep the same approach you've had to this point in the season, and don't look ahead to this weekend's massive showdown with Clemson. With the experience this team has, that shouldn't be too much of an issue.
