'He's not afraid to try anything': Anthony Edwards' wild dunk
Anthony Edwards makes a new highlight every night.
Just a day after sending shockwaves through the city of Detroit, Edwards gave the fans at Target Center a highlight-reel dunk Thursday night.
In the third quarter of the Wolves' 118-103 win over the Memphis Grizzlies, Edwards threw the ball off the backboard and slammed it down with authority.
Here's how he described it to TNT: "I'm just trying to get to a spot, like an elbow spot, and he cut me off and I didn't have nobody to pass it to, and I pump faked and he jumped so I thought I might as well try it. I seen someone do it in the All-Star game, so I was like I might as well try it."
That explanation is all the funnier because Edwards definitely had Naz Reid open to his right for the pass.
Best dunk of his career? Edwards himself thinks it might be.
Timberwolves coach Chris Finch said he could kind of see the dunk coming but didn't think Edwards would actually do it.
"I thought he was going to try and draw the foul," Finch said. "But I've seen him do it in practice once or twice. But yeah, unbelievable play. He just has that — he's not afraid of anything, he's not afraid to try anything."
