Watch: Rudy Gobert bricks 10-foot shot off top of backboard
Rudy Gobert is a beast. He's probably going to win the NBA Defensive Player of the Year award and his offensive production this season has been superb for the Western Conference-leading Timberwolves. But that doesn't mean he won't be starring on the next installment of "Shaqtin' a Fool."
The 10-foot push shot/floater he attempted in Minnesota's win over Portland Wednesday night is without a doubt one of the ugliest shots in the history of the NBA. His shot hit the top of the backboard, a bananas clunker from such close range.
"Rudy Gobert’s floater damn near floated out the arena," Hater Report posted on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.
"Bro what did I just watch," the BrickMuse account wrote on X.
All Timberwolves analyst Jim Petersen could do is laugh at the result.
The overall Gobert product has been phenomenal, and like he did against Russell Westbrook and the Clippers earlier this season, he got the last laugh.
Gobert has shifted his game into another gear over the past month. Since Jan. 9, the 7-footer is averaging 16.3 points on 70.1% shooting while adding 13.5 rebounds per game.
