National Media Dumbfounded By Hogs' Decision To Keep Pittman

In this story:
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Not so long ago Sam Pittman was the toast of Arkansas football. That was 2021 the Razorbacks having a 9-4 record and ranked in the College Football Playoff poll to close the season. When the Hogs hired Pittman, Barstool Sports', Brandon Walker laughed because they hired a career assistant with no head coaching experience to lead the program.
Walker called Pittman "Georgia's waterboy" when he was hired at Arkansas in December 2019. Which was a pretty good stretch considering Pittman was the offensive line guru and Kirby Smart's assistant head coach before arriving in Fayetteville as head coach. The lack of head coaching experience this season from clock and timeout management to calling timeouts before punts have been Morrisesque. Walker, a known Mississippi State homer, shared his disbelief that Pittman will remain with the Razorbacks next season.
"A job that we thought might come open, the Arkansas AD the other night said, nope, they are sticking with Pittman for another year," Walker said. "Which proves that Arkansas, not only haven the dumbest fan base in America but have the dumbest administration because they are bringing back a terrible coach who cannot get the job done. They're just going to waste another year."
Fox Sports Radio host, Aaron Torres was one of the first coaches to mention the Arkansas coach's job being at stake. Now that the Razorbacks have concluded their season, Torres took to X stating he believes there is no way the athletic department allows this situation to bleed into 2024.
I dont root for anyone to lose their job. But there is no reason to bring back Sam Pittman
— Aaron Torres (@Aaron_Torres) November 24, 2023
Besides the win/loss record and awful product on the field, there is nothing he can do over the next 10 months to win back the fan base.
Ten months of negativity coming. Cut the chord now
Looking at the body of work since the KJ Jefferson's "Superman leap" against Texas A&M in 2022, Arkansas holds an 8-14 overall record with one conference victory at home. To make matters worse, the Razorbacks have scored one rushing touchdown this season against SEC opponents. Plus, they have scored a total of three touchdowns inside Razorback Stadium which were all scored in garbage time. Clay Travis, owner of Outkick, even poured his two cents out of his pocket.
"Sam Pittman is a really nice guy," Travis said. "But I have no idea how Arkansas can justify bringing him back next year."
Mr. Travis, the answer to your thought has already been made clear. Yurachek has decided to keep Pittman for 2023. A constant reminder he's signing off on below average football being played on Frank Broyles Field.
