Razorbacks Without Top Scorer Tonight Against Duke

Tramon Mark has been officially ruled out before tip-off against No. 7 Duke

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas will be without leading scorer guard Tramon Mark against No. 7 Duke. The Houston transfer was carted off the court in the final game of the Battle 4 Atlantis against North Carolina.

Mark had been averaging 18.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 29.6 minutes through the first seven games of the season. Arkansas' starting lineup will consist of El Ellis, Jeremiah Davenport, Davonte "Devo" Davis, Trevon Brazile and Chandler Lawson. Mark is dressed out, but is out for tthis game, per a release from Arkansas Communications before the start. 

The programs have met on four previous occasions – all on a neutral court. The series is tied, 2-2.

The last time the Razorbacks and Blue Devils met was the 2022 NCAA Elite 8 in San Francisco, a game Duke won 78-69. Prior to that, Arkansas defeated Duke, 76-72, to win the 1994 NCAA Championship in Charlotte. The first meeting between the schools was in the 1990 NCAA Final Four. The Blue Devils won that initial match-up, 97-83. Eight months later (Nov. 21, 1990), Arkansas beat Duke, 98-88, at New York’s Madison Square Garden in the Preseason NIT semifinals.

Thi is the first time the Blue Devils have come to Bud Walton Arena. It is part of the first ACC-SEC Challenge that is replacing the Big 12-SEC Challenge that went on for nine years. The Razorbacks were 4-5 in those games, going 4-0 in Bud Walton Arena.
