Baylor Bowl Projections: Bears vs. ACC Foe?

The Baylor Bears are going bowling. But where's a realistic destination for them?

The Baylor Bears (6-6) did just enough to qualify for bowl eligibility a year after winning the Big 12 championship.

And though anything short of reaching Arlington again was certainly a disappointment for coach Dave Aranda and company, the team will still get a chance to end the year on a winning note during bowl season.

Sports Illustrated released its bowl projections for all qualifying teams Monday and has the Bears projected to face the N.C. State Wolfpack in the Cheez-It Bowl in Orlando, FL. on Thursday, Dec. 29. Kickoff for that game is set for 4:30 p.m. CT, though the participating teams are still yet to be determined.

Should Baylor square-off with N.C. State, the Bears would find themselves in a battle of two teams that failed to reach high expectations from the start of the season. The Wolfpack entered the season ranked No. 13 in the AP Top 25 while Baylor was ranked as high as No. 9 in Week 2.

N.C. State ended its season with a thrilling 30-27 double-overtime win over the North Carolina Tar Heels, but still only managed an 8-4 record overall.

If Baylor faces N.C State in the Cheez-It Bowl, it's the Wolfpack who will likely be favored to win.
