Baylor Coach Dave Aranda Has Simple Message for Bears vs. Kansas

Baylor Bears coach Dave Aranda is valuing patience headed into a vital portion of conference play.

The Baylor Bears need any chance of momentum they can get headed into Saturday's home came against the surprising 5-2 Kansas Jayhawks.

But Baylor coach Dave Aranda doesn't want his team to rush the process toward getting back on the right foot. Cliche as it might sound, he wants his group to trust the process and take things a step at a time. If the defending Big 12 champions want to get back to Arlington, they'll need to do exactly that.

"We just have to trust this process that we've got," Aranda said. "We've gotta be able to do our 1/11th instead of chasing these plays. Let's be where we're supposed to be and these plays will come to us. That's the message."

Aranda admitted that the team has itself to blame for the current two-game losing streak. For the Bears, clawing their way out of isn't out of the question. But it won't be possible unless the team begins treading away from the failure of the past two games.

"When the losses are finding you, it's funny how you start helping those losses find you," Aranda said. "I think we're in that space right now and to trust the process is a big part."

Baylor and Kansas kickoff from McLane Stadium at 11 a.m. CT on Saturday.
