Baylor Men's 4x100 Relay Team Finishes 5th in Nation

Freshman Ezekiel takes home 4th place in 400-meter hurdles

The Baylor Bears men's 4x100 relay team finished fifth in the nation on Friday night, June 10, at the NCAA Track & Field Championship in Eugene, Oregon.

"THERE WE GO, BOYS" Baylor Track & Field tweeted on Friday night. "Baylor 4x1 men of Laurenz Colbert, Isaiah Cunningham, Kamden Jackson & De'montray Callis finish FIFTH in the nation -- first among Big 12 programs!!"

The team completed the relay race in 38.89 seconds to ensure the Bears' fifth-place finish. All four track stars were also tabbed as All-Americans.

"For the first time since 2012, our men's 4x100 relay squad finishes as ALL-AMERICANS!" Baylor Track & Field tweeted Friday night after the team took home the honors.

In addition, the relay team's finish at fifth was first among Big 12 Conference opponents Texas and Texas Christian University (TCU) -- another first this season.

Freshman Nathaniel Ezekiel also competed in the 400-meter hurdles on Friday night, taking home fourth place and All-American honors.

"With a 4th place finish after 49.24 seconds, Nathaniel Ezekiel ends his true-freshman season in the 400mH as an All-American!" Baylor Track & Field tweeted late Friday night.

Overall, the Baylor men's track and field team wrapped up the 2022 outdoor season on Friday by finishing in 18th place -- the Bears highest ranking since 2015.
