Jeremy Sochan of the Baylor Bears has staked his claim as one of the wilder stories of the NBA Draft in 2022. For someone who was not even a top-100 freshman coming into the Baylor program this season, being drafted by the San Antonio Spurs at No. 9 overall is a wild turn of events.

The crafty forward brings elite defense to Gregg Popovich's team and will be a staple character for the franchise from the jump. Locked On Baylor host Drake Toll is joined by Inside the Bears' Cameron Stuart to break down how Sochan can make an immediate impact. They all juxtapose his pick with the fall of Kendall Brown.

The guys then tackle Baylor's newest addition in the class of 2023 as Scott Drew has landed a gem in 5-star recruit Ja'Kobe Walter. Walter is the No. 1 shooting guard in the nation out of McKinney and will bring elite scoring to the Bears right away. As a top-20 prospect, he's a likely one-and-done. But his impact even in a single season for Baylor will be huge. It's also a sign of Drew's ability to recruit elite high school talent to the university to bolster teams for years to come.

The guys close the show with Mitch Thompson, Baylor's new baseball coach, giving his remarks to a packed Baylor Club on Thursday at his introductory press conference. From promising to put the players first to utilizing his lively Texas lingo, Thompson won the crowd over with ease.
