Frida Formann surpasses 1,000 career points in Buffs win

The Senior guard led Colorado with 22 points in the win over Boston

The Colorado Buffaloes women's basketball team defeated the Boston Terriers 85-55 in Boulder on Tuesday. It seems like a blowout, right? Not so much.

The Buffs absolutely dominated the fourth quarter. However, It was just a four-point game going into the final period before Colorado absolutely took over to demolish their opponent.

Boston could only manage a couple of free throws, and a jump shot in the closing seconds, while being out scored 30-4 over the final ten minutes.

“Wow, glad we had a fourth quarter, that’s what my mom just said to me,” said Colorado Head Coach, JR Payne.

“They didn’t guard us any differently in the fourth quarter, we just made a decision that we were going to be more aggressive…really proud of our team for not just putting our heads down, and be upset about it, but to  be able to to figure it out,” said Payne.

Frida Formann made CU history as the 34th player to surpass the 1,000-point mark in the victory. She was clutch down the stretch with a couple a big 3-pointers that ended any threat of comeback by the visitors.

“The whole game was just a grind…..In the fourth quarter it was like, it’s now or never…I think as a collective we’re working on trying to figure out how we can flip that switch on our control and not just whenever it happens,” said Formann.

The Buffs will travel to Air Force for a Saturday afternoon matchup.
