The 5th-ranked Colorado Buffaloes defeated the No. 8 Stanford Cardinal 71-59 Sunday afternoon at the CU Events Center. After falling behind early, JR Payne's squad took their first lead of the game on a Kindyll Wetta layup with 0:29 seconds remaining in the first quarter. Maddie Nolan broke a 28-28 tie in the the second quarter to give the Buffaloes a lead they would not relinquish. 

Jaylyn Sherrod led the Buffaloes with 13 points. She was one of four Colorado starters in double-figures. Wetta, a junior from Castle Rock, Colo. added 12 points off the bench. Stanford's Kiki Iriafen lead all scorers with 19 points. 

The game was the first top 10 matchup at the CU Events Center since No. 8 Colorado hosted No. 1 Tennessee on December 17, 1994. With Saturday's victory, the Buffaloes (15-1, 5-0 Pac-12) have now won nine straight games, the longest winning streak since starting the 2021-'22 season 13-0. 15 of the Buffaloes 16 games this season have been decided by 10+ points.
