The NFL has witnessed a few prospects say 'no-go' over the years. John Elway refused to go to the Colts and Eli Manning wasn't going to be a Charger. While the Bears are expected to take Caleb Williams off the board with this year's top pick, don't expect Shedeur Sanders to be as accommodating for some teams.

Deion Sanders was out promoting his new book, 'Elevate and Dominate: 21 Ways to Win On and Off The Field,' this week and sat down with SiriusXM's Mad Dog Radio with Chris Russo. He was asked about Williams and heading to Chicago and provided an outstanding answer about Shedeur's situation in 2025.

“Let me tell you something that I have a problem with,” Sanders told Russo. “And this kid can flat out play, I think he’s the best one on the board this year for sure. A kid that’s coming from California for the last couple years, right? And went to Oklahoma. That’s not terribly cold. Chicago’s cold, man. You gotta think about that kind of stuff when you’re taking a young man. Like see, when you take a guy from Ohio State and you bring him to Chicago, OK, I could understand that. But from California to Chicago? Not only that, they added what? One or two more games in the NFL. Seventeen games. Come on, man. You gotta factor in that stuff. That stuff matters.

"Like, I don’t want my kid (Shedeur) going nowhere cold next year. He grew up in Texas. He played in Jackson, played in Colorado. Season’s over before it gets cold in Colorado. I’m just thinking way ahead. I don’t want that for him.”

Sanders has always kept it real when it comes to these types of situations and this is no exception. He'll probably take the heat if Shedeur does duck out of being drafted by somewhere like Green Bay or New England. However, as much as this advice might be "fatherly love," one factor nobody talks about is Shedeur's close relationship with Tom Brady. The GOAT QB spent a majority of his career as a cold-weather signal caller until he went to Tampa to end his career. Maybe Tommy Football realized how much weather might've played a role over the course of time.

Also, the severe cold is no joke. Some of the spectators who attended the near-record cold Kansas City Chiefs playoff game against the Miami Dolphins in January had to reportedly undergo amputations after suffering frostbite. About half of the NFL teams are considered to be stuck in colder weather. Out of that group, only two play in domes.

Coach Prime will be his son's biggest advisor and will have to "see the vision" with any team trying to take Shedeur off the board. Remember, this is the legendary player who knew his worth and told the New York Giants to keep their phone book and that he would be gone in the top five picks.
