The Colorado Buffaloes will open the season with some new footwear courtesy of Nike. A newly-debuted look of the Diamond Turf, which was made famous by Deion Sanders during the height of his NFL career.

Coach Prime showed off the new style yesterday and piqued the interest of LeBron James. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar commented about a possible sneaker swap with Sanders on his Instagram.

James grew up a two-sport athlete and spent time on the football field. In fact, he was considered Ohio's top HS football prospect. There was also a point in his 21-year NBA career when he considered trying out of the Cleveland Browns. If there was anyone who could do both professionally, "The King" would be a top pick.

Sanders rejoined Nike after being partnered with Under Armour for over a decade. The relationship goes beyond Colorado being affiliated with the world's most-recognizable athletic brand. It seems this is just a preview of a possible release of the Diamond Turf to the public, with Nike capitalizing on the popularity of Coach Prime.

Colorado opens the season with 17th-ranked TCU in Fort Worth on Sept. 2. Stay tuned to see what the Buffs come out of the tunnel wearing on their feet. It appears like a top-level drip from the looks of it.
