WATCH: Colorado's Dylan Edwards with strong final scrimmage

Buffaloes true freshman showing off some skills

Dylan Edwards came into Colorado's final scrimmage on Saturday looking to make a statement. The true freshman running back out of Derby HS in Kansas put on a show in front of at least two NFL scouts, according to Well Off Media.

While Edwards looked impressive during CU's Fall Camp, this was next-level by taking one run to the house for a score and throwing Buffs defensive lineman Bishop Thomas off with one hand.

The highly-touted four-star recruit chose to be a part of Coach Prime's army at Colorado over Notre Dame and others. Edwards was a top 150 prospect after being named the 2021 Gatorade Player of the Year in the state of Kansas. He put up 3,214 all-purpose yards and 40 total touchdowns as a senior at Derby.

Edwards will be featured in the Buffs running back rotation with Houston transfer Alton McCaskill IV and Kentucky transfer Kavosiey Smoke. The trio has been grinding away on campus together since late Spring.

Colorado has three practices left next week before final preparations for the season opener with TCU on Sept. 2.
