Campbell Expected To Hire Houston Christian Head Coach Braxton Harris

Braxton Harris is reportedly leaving Houston Christian to become the next head coach at Campbell, sources confirmed to FCS Football Central. The news was first reported by Kevin Marshall of FCS Nation Radio

Harris led the Huskies to a 5-5 (4-3 SLC) record in his first season as head coach. The Huskies finished the season with the first winning record in conference play at the FCS level. Harris signed the No. 1 FCS recruiting class in the country this season, which ranked No. 115 nationally.

Before his one season at Houston Christian, Harris served as the linebackers coach and recruiting coordinator at Campbell for two seasons (2021-22). He helped the Camels sign the No. 1 FCS recruiting class in back-to-back cycles, including four-star safety Myles Rowser.

Harris was 7-23 over three seasons as the head coach at Howard Payne. He also served as an assistant coach at Texas Lutheran and May Hardin-Baylor.

An official announcement from Campbell is expected this week. Houston Christian announced a national coaching search late on Sunday night.
