The Gators will open the campaign by playing host to John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats on January 6. It is the first time the two programs will face off in the first matchup of SEC play since the 1998-99 season and the first in Gainesville since 1978-79.
They'll then hit the road for their season's second true road game against a revamped Ole Miss squad now led by Chris Beard. Florida returns home on Jan. 13 to take on Arkansas.
From there, the middle portion of the Gators league schedule includes two games away before playing two games at home, following that pattern for 12 contests ranging from Jan. 16 on the road at Tennessee until it ends on Feb. 28 at home against Missouri.
Two matchups against last year's conference winner, Alabama, in 13 days highlight the Gators' late-season stretch, heading to Tuscaloosa (Ala.) on Feb. 21 with a rematch in Gainesville on March 5.
The new-look Florida squad will close out the 2023-24 campaign against the Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday, March 9, inside Memorial Gymnasium (Nashville, Tenn.).
Todd Golden vastly reconstructed the Gators roster from a season ago during the offseason, bringing eight new faces to occupy spots in the rotation and as depth for his second year at the helm at UF.
Zyon Pullin, Walter Clayton Jr., Julian Rishwain and Kajus Kublickas — an international addition — make up the scholarship additions to Florida's backcourt via the transfer portal. They join Riley Kugel, Will Richard and Denzel Aberdeen.
In the frontcourt, the Gators brought Micah Handlogten and Tyrese Samuel from the portal, with recruits Alex Condon and Thomas Haugh to join the team's lone returning forward, Aleks Szymczyk.
The reconstruction efforts are expected to prove fruitful as Golden has flipped the roster to reflect his philosophy of multi-faceted guards, sharpshooting wings and towering stretch big men after one season of attempting to piece players recruited by Mike White into his system.
No White-recruited talent remains in Gainesville.
