The final position group without a pledge in Florida's 2024 recruiting class now has one.

Sarasota (Fla.) Cardinal Mooney cornerback prospect Teddy Foster became the first Gators commit at the spot on Friday evening, announcing his decision to suit up in orange and blue at the collegiate level via Instagram Live.

Foster, a three-star talent according to 247Sports Composite Rankings from Florida's Gulf Coast, elected to continue his football career with UF over Miami and North Carolina.

As a long-limbed press coverage corner, Foster displayed notable promise in a breakout junior campaign for the Cougars. Accounting for 38 tackles, nine pass breakups, two interceptions and one fumble recovery in 11 games, the defensive back began to garner several offers starting in the fall and continuing into the fall.

The Gators, albeit late to the party as the final offer of 21 total, became a strong contender for his services on May 23.

Standing at 6-foot-2, 170 pounds, Foster possesses the length and athleticism coveted by secondary coach Corey Raymond when evaluating and pursuing talent throughout his coaching career. Foster furthered the staff's intrigue in him during an impressive performance in a private workout led by the Gators staff in May, resulting in the offer.

He immediately shot up Florida's board of potential cornerback targets post-workout.

As a result, the Gators became the considerable favorite to earn his commitment when the time eventually came. UF remained in control of the driver's seat in his recruitment until his decision was made on Friday, where they capitalized on the relationship that grew rapidly over the past three months.

Foster adds to the likes of Devin Moore, Ja'Keem Jackson, Dijon Johnson and Aaron Gates as cornerbacks to attach themselves to the Florida program during Raymond's stint as the position assistant.

Foster becomes the 20th pledge in the Florida Gators No. 3 class in the 2024 cycle and the seventh to join the fold since officially visiting Gainesville during the June 16-18 weekend.
