McCray included Florida on his debut list of top programs on May 20, alongside Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Florida State, Clemson, Miami, LSU, Penn State and Tennessee.
His upcoming trip to Gainesville will be his fifth as a recruit and third of the year. Subsequently, McCray plans to officially visit Miami (June 9-11), Auburn (June 12-14), Georgia (June 16-18) and Florida State (Oct. 7-9) in the coming months, per 247Sports.
At press time, McCray is one of 15 anticipated official visitors in The Swamp for the first weekend of June, a three-day stretch that could provide pivotal to Florida's recruiting efforts in the 2024 cycle as the Gators look to build upon an eight-man class of commitments.
Of note, prized UF quarterback commitment DJ Lagway will be in attendance to aid the coaching staff's effort to stockpile talent for Florida's future football rosters.
The 6-foot-6, 260-pound McCray is considered the No. 16 defensive lineman and No. 136 overall prospect in the class of 2024, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
Primarily in a defensive end role, McCray tallied 47 tackles, three sacks and 17.5 tackles for loss as a junior with Mainland. He also caught 14 passes for 159 yards and two touchdowns as a tight end.
