Baltimore (Md.) Charles Herbert Flowers offensive tackle and former South Carolina class of 2024 commitment, Mike Williams, plans to officially visit Florida from June 9-11, he confirmed with All Gators on Wednesday.

The trip to Gainesville, Fla. will come on the heels of Williams' May 23 decommitment from Florida's SEC rival South Carolina, a pledge that lasted roughly one month. 

"After further consideration I would like to announce that I will be decommiting from the University of South Carolina and re-opening my recruitment," Williams tweeted Tuesday evening. "Thank you to all the coaches at the University of South Carolina."

Williams. 6-foot-6, 325 pounds, is considered the No. 104 offensive tackle and No. 1254 overall prospect in the class of 2024, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. 

His recruitment has surged dating back to the turn of the year, as Power 5 programs Miami, Southern California, West Virginia, South Carolina, Michigan State, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and Florida have respectively sent him scholarship offers since January. 

Florida — which has prioritized the offensive tackle position in 2024 by casting a wide net of targets, with 30 such offers documented so far by 247Sports — specifically entered the race on April 7. Williams is one of seven offensive tackles with an official visit to UF scheduled for June. 

Williams will also officially visit the Spartans and Gamecocks in June, 247Sports reported.
