Vigor High School (Mobile, Ala.) offensive lineman Micah DeBose is moving forward with 10 teams in contention for his pledge: Florida, Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, LSU, Mississippi State, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Tennessee and USC.

DeBose is considered the No. 8 offensive tackle and No. 69 overall player in the 2025 recruiting cycle, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

DeBose’s return to the open market following his decommitment from Georgia in late December drew considerable attention from the bevy of powerhouse institutions who vied for his services prior to his original alingment with the Bulldogs.

Fielding interest from a variety of potential suitors since then, with 30 reported offers on his plate, the prized offensive trenchman has done his due diligence to ensure his second commitment is his final.

On Friday, DeBose got one step closer to his restructured decision.

The Gators — led by position coach Rob Sale and newly minted assistant offensive line coach Jonathan DeCoster — have moved firmly into the mix for the promising Yellowhammer State native.

Standing at 6-foot-5, 315 pounds before his senior year at Vigor High, according to 247Sports, DeBose’s physical profile aligns with Florida’s desire to pursue and acquire towering talent to man spots on the exterior of its offensive line.

He’s earned projections to slot in at tackle and/or guard upon his arrival at the college level, showcasing valuable positional versatility for any program that secures his services when he commits.

Currently, LSU is viewed as the leader for DeBose, but the other nine programs still in contention will expectedly remain steadfast in their recruiting efforts for the highly touted blocker.

Florida, namely, aims to add him alongside offensive lineman commit Peyton Joseph in the 2025 cycle.
