Findlay (Ohio) prospect Ryan Montgomery has emerged as the primary 2025 quarterback target for the Gators.

On Tuesday, Montgomery shared his intentions to unofficially visit the University of Florida during week three of the 2023 campaign as the Gators take on Tennessee in The Swamp on Sept. 16. He previously hinted at making the return to Gainesville for the contest after an inaugural trip to campus in April. 

The return trek is now official after his visit schedule release.

He also set trips to North Carolina (Sept. 2) and South Carolina (Oct. 14) in the first half of the regular season. As a result, the four-star recruit will have the opportunity to see Florida play twice this season, once at home and once on the road.

Releasing his top-five on Aug. 15, Montgomery named Florida alongside Georgia, Michigan, Penn State and South Carolina as the programs vying for his services in the final stretch of his recruitment.

The Findlay High performer has proved productive through two seasons as the Trojans' leading signal-caller.

Accounting for 1,787 yards and 22 touchdowns on 60.3% completion as a sophomore, following a freshman campaign in which he compiled 2,420 yards with 29 touchdowns and seven interceptions in 11 starts, Montgomery saw considerable interest pile in from a bevy of powerhouse Power Five institutions.

The Gators currently hold a firm, long-standing pledge from DJ Lagway — who's expected to produce as the face of the Napier rebuild — in the 2024 class.
